Dr.Michael W. Gaffley Ed. D. CYC-P

Michael W. Gaffley is a program professor and graduate of Nova Southeastern University’s Fischler School of Education and Human Services. He brings a unique blend of scholarship and expertise to the position and is proficient in the art and science of paradigm shifts, relational education and lifestyle negotiations. He worked with sexually, physically and emotionally abused youth, as well as with socially excluded families in high risk environments and is a former executive director of state and human services agencies in South Africa where for almost twenty years he was a driving force in many collaborative community based partnerships. During the transformation process, from apartheid to democracy he developed Organizabonding, a comprehensive leadership and organizational capacity building, education, and training model facilitating the management of the human capital investment in human services organizations. He has keynoted and presented at various national and international child and youth care conferences around the world. He is the recipient of numerous meritorious and academic awards for his accomplishments in difficult times, amongst others, Outstanding Student Achievement Award from NSU, Mayoral and Chairman’s commendations and the Provincial Government’s commendation for leadership during the transformation process. Dr. Gaffley brings the quintessential pinnacle perspective; he educates, informs and agitates. |

Heather Modlin Psy.B., MSc. CYCA
President - CCCYCA
Heather Modlin has worked in the field of child and youth care for 19 years. She has a BA (Hons.) in Psychology and a MSc. in Child and Youth Care Administration. She is Executive Director of Waypoints in St. John’s Newfoundland and Labrador, a multi-program agency that provides residential and support services to young people and families. Heather is also a part-time instructor in the Child and Youth Care Program at CompuCollege. She is actively involved with the Child and Youth Care Association of Newfoundland and Labrador, and currently serves as president of the Council of Canadian Child and Youth Care Associations. Heather is also a member of the editorial board for the Journal of Relational Child and Youth Care. |

Dr. Chip Bonsutto, LSW, CYC-P

Chip Bonsutto has worked in the field of Child, Youth and Family Care for the past 27 years. He holds a BA in Psychology, a MSc. in Child and Youth Care Administration and an Ed.D. in Education, Child and Youth Studies. In the present, he is the President of Association for Child and Youth Care Practice, Inc. and a Board Member of Child & Youth Care Certification Board. He has been a Committee Member for the North American Certification Project (NACP), President of the Ohio Association of Childhood and Youth Care Professionals. He served as a Committee Member on the Committee on Child Welfare League of America Standards of Excellence for Residential Services. He has been published 12 times, “The Road to Professionalism; The Grassroots Efforts of the Ohio Association and Youth Care Professionals”; “Improving Mental Health Services to Clients Through Service Redesign, Role Clarification, and the Use of Performance Pay Interventions for Mental Health Professionals”, among others. |
